Pamela Gorkin is Professor of Mathematics at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. She received her Ph.D. at Michigan State University. While her research is focused primarily on function theory and operator theory, she has also worked on the Dirichlet problem and a biography of the Swiss mathematician, Alice Roth. Professor Gorkin has had visiting research positions at the Universität Karlsruhe, Université de Metz, Universidad Zaragoza, MSRI, and the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut in Oberwolfach, Germany. The book Reading, Writing, and Proving: A Closer Look at Mathematics is her fifth (mathematical) joint work with Ulrich Daepp.
