Homework 6 Answers

Please be sure to clearly show your work in the solutions that you submit. Your approach is much more important than obtaining the correct numerical answer.

The answers given below are not complete, but they should be enough for you to check your work.

Problem 5.10: Current between +1 and -1 mA, max energy is 0.1 J.

Problem 5.14:  Voltage answers are 5, 7.5, and 12.5 V (these are not in order).

Problem 5.17:  4 microF

Problem 5.24:  Voltage between +.15 and -.15 mV, total energy transferred is 0.45 mJ.

Problem 5.28:  Current and voltage magnitudes are 0.5 A, and 7.5 V.

Problem 5.31:  5 mH

Problem 5.34:  Time constant is 4 s, initial capacitor voltage is 8 V.

Problem 5.46:  Time constant is (1/200) s, initial inductor current is 0.4 A.
