Prof. Rich Kozick

Homework 9

Date Assigned: Monday, October 22, 2012
Date Due: Wednesday, October 31, 2012

  1. Reading: In the Ulaby/Maharbiz text, please continue to study Chapter 4, Sections 4-1 through 4-10.

  2. Labs: Lab 4 will be on Oct. 23 and 25. Please see the Lab 4 description and find the input-output relationship for the op amp circuits in Figures 2, 3, 4, and 5. Bring your results to Lab 4 on Oct. 23 or 25, and it will be part of your Lab 4 report.

Reports for Lab 4 will be due in your Lab 5 session on Oct. 30 or Nov. 1 in class on Monday, Nov. 5. The lab reports may be handwritten (or a combination of typed and handwritten), with one report per lab group. Please refer to the lab report rubric document on the ELEC 225 labs page for guidance on how the lab reports will be evaluated.

  3. Please solve the following problems in Chapter 4 of the textbook and submit solutions in class on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Problems 4.5 and 4.7: Use the op amp equivalent circuit in Figure 4-4 for these two problems.
Problem 4.45: Use the ideal op amp assumptions for this problem, and avoid writing KCL at op amp output terminals. Use node-voltage analysis and write KCL at the nodes vn1 and vn2.

  4. Kathy Olsen will not be available for the help session on Tuesday, Oct. 23 since there is no homework due on Oct. 24.
Thank you.
