  1. Reading: In the Ulaby/Maharbiz text, please continue to study Chapter 3, Sections 3-1 through 3-6 (but we will not discuss or explicitly use the material from Section 3-3).

  2. Help Sessions: Kathy Olsen (junior CPE) will be available every week on Tuesday from 7-8 PM in Dana 305.

  3. Labs: Please see the updated lab schedule, which shows the dates we will have labs through October 23. We will have Lab 2 on Sept. 13 and 18.
    Please bring your textbook and class notes to all lab sessions. We will give each student a breadboard and wire strippers to keep in a few weeks.

  4. Please see the materials on Moodle (under Course Materials) for circuit analysis and solving simultaneous linear equations with TI-83/84 and TI-89 calculators. You can also see me or Kathy Olsen (on Tuesday evenings) for help with using your calculator.

  5. Please see the note on Moodle (under Event Notices in item 5) for summer internships at Exelon. A help session is available on Sept. 19 and applications are due by Sept. 20.

  6. Please solve the following problems in Chapter 3 of the textbook and submit solutions in class on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
    Problems 2, 15, 17, and 20 using the node-voltage method.
    Problems 22, 28, and 35 (same circuit as Problem 3.17) using the mesh-current method.
    Problem 40 using either node-voltage or mesh-current analysis.
